Lorenzo Quinn, Marilyn and Dali in Mayfair

Holding hands

On my way from Chihuly’s art that was presented to your kind attention in one of my recent posts, I stumbled upon another curios exposition. Just across the street from Halcyon Gallery there is… another Halcyon Gallery, which presents rather curious pieces of art.

Since the 5th of March and up to the 28th of April there will be presented a collection of Lorenzo Quinn’s famous sculptures, together with some rare retro Merilyn Monroe pictures on big canvas and a number of other distinguished artistic works.

A new work entitled ‘Perfect Relationship’ will be featured in the exhibition offering visitors to the gallery in Harrods the chance to be the first to see one of Quinn’s newest sculpture. In addition, there will be two pieces that have not been seen in Harrods before: ‘Destiny’ and ‘The Passage of Time’. (Source)

All in all, the “repertoire” of the gallery is rather impressive and worth sneaking a peek. Apart from Quinn there are also such artists as Andy Warhol and Andres Garcia Ibanez. The last deserves particular attention for his satirical paining “La Castidad Reclamada por el Amor“, portraying a wealthy woman with a careless Cupidon. Probably, the face of the contemporary upper class society couldn’t be represented better.

Stroll along the corridors to take pleasure in observing beautiful Marilyn. Take a picture with a golden lady. And, for the dessert behold the gorgeous Space Venus by Dali, undoubtedly overshadwing on all the rest of the exhibits.
