Glass Gardens by Chihuly at Halcyon Gallery

Halcyon gallery

If you are tired of the traditional art, but still want a sort of cultural adventure in the artistic environment of London, this city still has something to offer. Don’t miss a striking exhibition of Chihuly’s glass sculptures presented at Halcyon Gallery. Extraordinary shapes and amazingly bright colours will literally take your breath away. Enter the door at 144-146 New Bond Street and you will dive into the underworld of glass fantasy.

The first thing that immediately grabs your attention is a massive boat of blown glass on the crystal clear mirror-like surface of the floor. It’s value is so enormously high that this is the only exhibit with restricted access. So, if you have a sudden uncontrollable desire to take a ride (fully justified, for sure), hold your horses.

When you collect your jaw from the floor and can finally turn your head left and right, you can see massive chandelier-like sculptures  similar to the one exhibited at  Victoria and Albert museum. Would you like to have one at home?

The most impressive view by far is by all means on the first floor, representing somewhat average between an English garden and underworld. Beautiful vases remind all kind of flora and fauna, probably unknown to modern science.

For those who still don’t know, Dale Chihuly is an american glass artist, whose works are deadly famous across the whole globe. You can see his sculptures in many places in the United States, as well as in Canada, England, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

If you are truly interested, you can find his full biography, as well as his official web-page right here.

Hurry up! Chihuly’s exhibition is available at Halcyon Gallery (144-146 New Bond Street) till the 21st of April absolutely free of charge.

And, of course, don’t forget to say thank you for sharing with you these wonderful news and pictures. You’re welcome. (;
